Author of the Text: Materials for Koffler’s Life and Work in Vienna (1914–1923)
Director, viola player, writer, translator, composer, journalist, and producer who studied at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice (1962–1967). After performing with the Polish Radio and Television Orchestra in Kraków, he held editorial positions at TVP Katowice and TVP Gdańsk until his politically-motivated dismissal in 1982. He subsequently relocated to Vienna (1983–2023) before returning to Poland, where he now resides in Gdynia.
He is the author of dozens of entries in the Österreichisches Musiklexikon and book publications (e.g. on Karol Szymanowski (1985) and Bronisław Huberman (2001)). He has composed music for theater and television productions, created television biographies of prominent composers, and directed documentary films, including Following Chopin's Footsteps – Czech Republic, Chopin Means Poland, and Chopin's Heart. As a director, he has staged opera productions including Paisiello's Il barbiere di Siviglia (Vienna), Giordano's Fedora (Warsaw), and Krása's Brundibár (Wrocław). He has organized international music events, including the commemoration of the 150th anniversary of F. Chopin's death in Vienna (1999) and the exhibition Chopin in Vienna (2010).
