In Lwów, on Akademicka Street near the Polish Music Society, the first modern office building (seven stories high), known as the New Sprecher Building designed by Ferdinand Kassler, is being constructed.

Koffler serves on the Artistic Committee of the Jewish Academic Choir, reactivated in Lwów. Committee members include Dr. Artur Hermelin, Dr. Seweryn Barbag, Dr. Jerzy Izydor Freiheiter, and Alfred Plohn.
He writes a letter to Bronislawa Wójcikówna, who serves as secretary of the Polish Musicological Society. In it, he admits that he is not engaged in scholarly research work, but is entirely focused on his composing activities.
Józef Koffler and Róża Roth get married in a tenement at 31 Sykstuska Street. Róża (b. 14 August 1904 in Żurawno, now Zhuravno in Ukraine) is the daughter of a general practitioner, Dr Salomon Roth (b. 1870), and Maria Goldstein. The marriage act is signed by Dr Lewi Freund, a rabbi, and the witnesses are Leopold Münzer and Józef Kurnak.
After World War I, the Roths had moved from Żurawno to Stryj, where they lived at 11 Potockiego St., close to the Kofflers and the Schönfelds. Salomon set up his medical practice there. Józef and Róża had therefore been neighbours.
Koffler sends Schönberg the score of his new work (title not mentioned) along with the following letter:
Dear Maestro!
I take the liberty of submitting to you my new piece written in the twelve-note technique. I humbly request your uninhibited opinion. I have a vague sense of having offended you with my last letter. I find it hard to make subjective judgments. Please forgive me if I offended you in any way, which was certainly unintentional and without my knowledge. Let me assure you that you are the only person in the world whom I utterly trust, and in whose artistry and humanity I have profound confidence!
With deepest reverence, yours respectfully, J[ózef] Koffler.
In a letter to Adolf Chybiński, Koffler announces his intention to write a paper ‘about the reform of music notation and its application in twelve-note technique’, for publication in Kwartalnik Muzyczny.
