A press note informs us that in November 1931 Koffler orchestrated Edward Grieg’s Berceuse from Lyric Pieces as an additional work to be performed (outside the main programme) by violinist Henryk Czapliński during a PTM (Polish Music Society) symphonic concert, where he played the solo part in Édouard Lalo’s Symphonie espagnole (Alfred Plohn, ‘P.T.M – H. Czapliński’, Chwila, 15 Nov. 1931).
We also have some mentions of Koffler’s last unfinished projects. In the summer of 1940, Zofia Lissa wrote that the composer ‘plans to get down to work on the ballet Spartacus (but the lack of a suitable libretto is an obstacle)’ (‘Музыка в советском Львове’ [Music in the Soviet Lvov], Советская музыка 8–9 (1940), 93). Late in 1940, Koffler was reported to have started writing his Symphony No. 5 (Література і мистецтво 1 (1941), 49).
