and the music section was headed by Adam Sołtys (subsequently – Jerzy Kołaczkowski). Józef Koffler presented his commentaries in Radio Lwów, and Czesław Halski, his pupil from the PTM Conservatoire, was one of the radio speakers. Koffler frequently discussed the role of a radio in musical life in his articles published in Warsaw’s journals Muzyka and Antena, as well as Lwów’s newspaper Echo. According to him, music ‘plays a prominent role in the overall programme of Polish Radio Lwów, the most musical of Polish cities’ (1937). Popular studio broadcasts included Wesoła Lwowska Fala (The Merry Lwów Radio Wave, from 1932). Polish Radio Lwów also broadcast music by Józef Koffler, including, for instance, Ballet Music, Op. 7, 15 Variations, Op. 9, and Sonatina, Op. 12, all presented by the ISCM’s Lwów branch ensemble in 1931.
