Leopold Münzer (Muenzer)
(1902–1943)
pianist, pedagogue

He learned at the GTM (Galician Music Society’s) Conservatoire in Lwów (before 1914) and later with Jerzy Lalewicz at Vienna’s Academy of Music (till 1919). He made his solo debut in 1920 in Vienna and won an honourable mention in the First International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw (1927). In 1928–29 he taught a piano class at the PTM (Polish Music Society’s) Conservatoire in Lwów. He was a member of the ISCM (International Society for Contemporary Music), Polish Section, Lwów Branch (operating in 1930–33).
