One of the tenants was Lewi Freund, graduate of the University of Vienna (1908), who from 1920 served as a rabbi at the Lwów’s Reform synagogue (the Tempel) situated in the Old Market Square (Rybny Square), in a remote part of the city. It was in the tenement at 31 Sykstuska Street that Józef Koffler and Róża née Roth got married in 1929, in the presence of rabbi Freund. Witnesses included pianist Leopold Münzer, who was also a teacher at Lwów’s PTM Conservatoire.
